Using Ormita, an existing (successful), business owner is able to take their unsold capacity and turn it into something useful – an investment into a new enterprise.

The business owner making an Ormita unit investment sells his product or service for Ormita barter dollars, then transfers these to the business he or she is investing in.

The investor receives a small percentage share in the new business (the actual percentage is privately negotiated between both parties).

The start-up receives funding and, more importantly, support and guidance from a business owner who has experience in the local marketplace and who now has a vested interested in the success of someone other than himself.

The value proposition

A business owner can potentially turn its excess capacity into an investment with possible cash returns anywhere from 1 through to thousands of times greater than the value of the initial investment.

It costs an investor a minimal amounts of cash to invest – as they are essentially investing their “surplus capacity”, by converting those into barter credits in the network and allowing their new investment to spend those credits on things that they need.

Thirdly, it provides a mechanism for Ormita members to diversify their investments and asset base with little to no risk. If the investment doesn't turn out as well as hoped - the only thing lost was income - which they probably would not have earned had they not been a participant of the Ormita network in the first place.
